it seems that facebook will be introducing auto-play video ads to the newsfeeds of users.

i know why they're doing it, but i find the idea unpleasant enough that i will be leaving facebook if they do, in fact, implement the feature. i hadn't made that kind of "threat" in response to any other feature change since i joined in 2006, but this is quite the sticking point for me.

to be honest, i had been looking for an excuse to quit. i've gone on a few multi-month breaks, and they were quite refreshing.

if that does happen, i'll be focusing much more on keeping this site up to date and i hope, interesting. we'll see what comes of it.
